Dear reflector...

Earlier I read a post by sophie which was very informative and then Sue and then that of BMW...I also went through the comments and realized that Sulekha readers wanted to move to the next level...of what they could do in case they found someone known to them suffering from such abuse...which is why I put down this information...

what I also understand is that readers also want some more indepth tips on how to educate children to say no and on good touch and bad touch...

being in my last month of pregnancy...it gets difficult for me to sit long hours researching and compiling data...Infact I would love to have you, Dr. madhvi and BMW to take this further...and start putting down something on how to educate children...

you have posted this at the right time...I am sure a lot of people here would benefit especially those working with victims of abuse...Black magic Women just posted her traumatic experience in healing a child who had undergone such experience..

good informative one

Thats the spirit...Your contribution adds a lot of value to my write up...thats how we keep the awareness moving on to more and more people...

I think I will have the contact numbers of these organizations...will post them up...Or even u could do so if you have them...

Dear wishingstar...

Yes its a struggle and creating an awareness is one step to dealing with such issues...but there is so much more that needs to be done...hopefully once I am out of my family responsibilities...I will be more active in this work...

Dear  Ms  Govinde,
It  was  the  best  in  recent  months.
Its  rare  to  read  Sociological  write  ups  here.
Child  abuse cannot  be  taken  lightly.
Unlike  adults, kids have  no  safety  valves.
They  have  no  means  to  express  this  psychological  scar.
Well  read  human  beings must  take  up  cudgels  on  their  behalf!
Allow  me  to  add  some  more NGOs  in  the mentioned  list -
(a)Butterfly-  a NGO  that  runs  helpline  for street  kids
(b)Prayas-a NGO started  by  few  IPS officials
(c) CRY-  internationally  known  NGO.It  also  runs  a  special  wing  for victims of sexually  abused.
(d) Snehi-  a N.G.O.  ,that   gives psychological  counselling  to  the  victims

warm  regards,
yours,
ashish  dimri
